Family Law
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Sacks is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. Before most Family Law cases can proceed to trial or final hearing, a case must be mediated first. Choosing the right mediator can be a very difficult task. Some mediators have different styles and their approach to mediating cases may conflict with the parties that are ordered to mediation. Mediators should always be neutral. A mediator should never take sides with a party based upon any bias that a mediator may have regarding a party or a party’s attorney. A mediator should never give legal advice but should be well versed in the laws surrounding Divorce and Family Law matters. Perhaps the most important ingredient that a mediator needs to possess is Compassion. Parties at a mediation want to feel that they have a voice and that what they have to say is important. Parties want to make sure that when they speak, people care. If the mediator does not care, why should the parties care? Through the observation of many mediations and conducting mediations, it is more likely that parties will come to an agreement if they feel that they and their problems matter. Parties want to know that the mediator cares about them and not just because they are getting paid to do a job.
At The Law Offices of Sacks & Sacks Family Law, our mission has always been to provide the best representation to our clients along with displaying the compassion that our clients deserve. We care about our clients and in a mediation setting, we are confident that we can display the utmost compassion to our clients that we do not represent.
